Semi Flush Lighting

If you’re shopping for lighting that is suitable for a low ceilings then semi flush lighting may be your perfect solution. Designed to have only a small gap between the lighting fitting and ceiling when fitted they are one of the most common types of lighting fitting found in homes today.

Why Choose Semi Flush Ceiling Lighting

Although there are no longer specific regulations governing the height of ceilings in newly build properties the accepted standard is 2.4 meters or approximately 8 feet. There are obviously variations to this but most homes will be in the region of 2.2 meters to 2.6 meters. From a light fitting perspective this does give a huge amount of space in which to work and the ‘Drop’ of the light becomes a big consideration.  When fitting lights you do not want to be in a position where tall people have to dodge the light when walking round the room.

Flush Lighting and Semi-Flush Lighting are designed for use on low ceilings or where space is restricted. They work especially well in bathrooms, kitchens, hallways, closets and bedrooms but the wide range of styles and options available means they can complement every room in the house.

Choosing Semi Flush Lighting

The three key factors when lighting any area of your home, both indoor and out, is to understand what size area you wish to light, what the purpose of the lighting is and what restrictions there are (e.g. Low Ceilings).
